instantly destroyed by the earliest settlers in the region while converting farmland in the 1700s and the burial grounds themselves were desecrated repeatedly with the last known bodies being discovered during the 1920s.
No one really known what happened to remains found early on other than the possibility that they were secreted away in the fill dirt and could've ended up just about anywhere in proximity where ground leveling was deemed necessary at the

time. That being said the historical society in the area does believe that some of the bodies dug up were not Native American in origin but were connected

to very early churches built and forgotten in the area whose precise locations had been lost for decades. All of this predates Native American lobbied laws passed in the 1970s which made deliberate disruption or desecration of Native American remains illegal in the US. No one has any clear idea as to what happened to the bodies or if any intact graves still remain.
