I have lived in Hawley, Pennsylvania for over fifty years. As a child I would spend my summer days swimming in the river across the street from my family's house on River Street. As I got older I had an eerie feeling about that place. One day when I was about fifteen years old I went to the river with my close friend to spend the day sunbathing. After an hour a thick feeling of dread overcame me. I was frantically searching for the source of my terror when I saw a large black figure standing merely feet behind my friend. I screamed loud enough for everyone in the neighborhood to hear me and nearly scared my friend half to death. I of course tried to tell her what a I saw, but by that time the figure was gone. To this day I refuse to return to that river. Something terrible happened there, and I still cannot figure out what. Submitted by Catherine

While on vacation a ew years back we were at woodloch springs (woodloch pines) so we would go to town to eat or to go to Walmart for soda and snacks. We went the same way always but this night as we approache a bridge over this creek or River I saw a church and walking out of it were 4 or so people dressed like they were from the 1700's or 1800s.

Long skirts and bonnets the men in the period of our country founding. I thought the church was having rehearsals for a play but there were no signs. I turned to look again and they were gone. There were no cars parked anywhere near where they were walking and no houses near enough for them to pop into so quickly the nearest house was around 100 yards away. Submitted by Medic
