I was raised in in Jeannette PA. As a child around 6-8 I suppose my friend Mary and I used to visit an old lady with a big white dog. We would sit on her back porch and eat her homemade cookies and play with her dog. To get to her house we would walk down the alley between our streets. One day we did that, and when we walked past her garage we heard her dog in the garage. We stood on the box below the window and saw him. We ran to her and asked if

we could play with her dog. She got quiet and softly said her sweet dog died the day before. We said ''no look in the garage he's in there!'' She went

and looked and shook her head, ''no girls see he isn't in there. My son buried him in the spot under this box''. I was sad, but Mary was too scared to go back. I continued visiting her until we moved. This old lady lived on Guy Street. We lived on Margaret Street; the alley was between these streets.
