My boyfriend's family lives in a very old stone house, built likely in the early 1800s. When they first moved in the basement, unfinished at the time, it seemed ''off'' they would say. They said they would hear noises coming from down there, and jokingly gave their spirit or ghost a name, but they ended up decided it was likely just old pipes. The basement has since been finished, with walls built in, including my boyfriend's room, a bathroom, and a TV/living

My personal experience started when I brought over sage, as a joke, to get rid of their ghost. I've never been too invested in the supernatural,

but I'm beginning to think my joke was a mistake. A few weeks later I walked down the stairs into the basement one night thinking my boyfriend was in his room. He often likes to hide and jump out at me, so when I saw his figure standing in the corner I thought I had caught him in the act. I said out loud ''I can see you'' and started walking towards him, maintaining my gaze on him the whole time. It was then that I turned on my phone's flashlight
