Years ago American Indians had a trading post located where Big Birch Run flows into the West Branch of the Susquehanna. Indians would leave the trading post traveling west from the trading post and return one hour later with gold they would trade with locals throughout that area. There are several caves along that area of the mountainside west of Big Birch Run.
One evening while hunting in that area along the railroad tracks halfway between Big

Birch Run and Jessie Moore's old homestead I saw a hairy looking animal, or person, approximately seven feet tall. I saw him running through the high

grass along the West Branch of the Susquehanna. The creature ran through the tall grass and crossed over the river near Spruce Run. This person, or animal, left tracks along the river bank. The tracks were approximately the size of someone who would be wearing a size 18-20 shoe. The tracks appeared to be those of a barefoot human being. A year later while hunting in the same area, a friend of mine hunting with me, spotted the same creature along the river
