When I was a little girl living in Slatington on Washington and Main across from the old Becchtels Pharmacy there was a story about a man with a hook hand that lived in the woods by Westend Park. I swear I saw him and ran and ran. I was born in Slatington and my father Allen Markell was born in Lehigh Gap along the river, and went to the old one room school house by Keystone Lamp Factory.
I have so much to share. My dad had lots of friends. The picture of downtown next to the post office with the Chinese restaurant my moms best friend and family lived on the 2nd floor, the Edwards. My 3rd grade teacher Ms Dalremple lived above the A And P we were all so poor because both our moms died so we stole candy from the old 5 and 10, but I know they let us.
