When I was about ten years old my mom had a meeting in D. C. Well on the last day of the meeting the members of the group could bring their kids to a picnic and then we could go on a tour of the memorials. At the picnic there were other kids there too. They were younger than us (my brother Malcolm and i) so they were scared easily. The place that the picnic was at was the octagon. My mom told us that it was haunted and that some people can see a girl falling off the balconey.

We saw that and it scared us so bad that we ran away but we went back about 5 minutes later. When we looked in the second time we saw a face in the window of one of the doors. It looked like it had glasses and it just stared at us.

I was really scared by then. About 2 minutes later we saw somebody come out of the building. We asked him if he saw anyone in there but (this is the scaryist part) he disappeared. He was a ghost! Only us kids saw it. I am now 17 and I still can get this out of my mind. Submitted by Emilie

As I was preparing to leave the city limits of Washington D. C. I noticed to no surprise a crane with chains on the Potomac River attempting to pull something from the water over a bridge. That was a haunted scene to view.
