Grandpa Macon was not the same after Grandma Minnie died. When Grandpa was 90 years old, he moved in with his grandson Albert's family. They lived on a quiet suburban street where the homes were impressive and the trees tall and elegant.
Next door to Albert, the neighbors had a large property with an old log cabin set back a long ways from the street. Legend has it the log cabin was a ''speak easy'' during the depression.

at night he was awaken by piano music and robust singing. Being awaken in the middle of night did not disturb Grandpa for the neighbors were singing his favorite songs from long ago during his freewheeling youth while courting Minnie.
Albert had not heard the music and assumed Grandpa had a vivid dream. A month later Grandpa was excited and happy at breakfast after again being awaken by the neighbors' singing of merry tunes from Grandpa's youth.
