On weekends young people gather on Wisconsin Avenue and take photographs with cell phones of their late night frolics and adventures. Some report images in the background of mysterious old soldiers. The soldiers' images only remain for a short time and then fade away. Historians are seeking the photographs in order to claim the reward. At the turn of the century there was a poor immigrant who offered to dig foundations for free in parts of Chevy chase. Not long afterwards the immigrant built a large beautiful home in Chevy chase. He claimed his riches were from a brief successful gambling trip to Philadelphia but this surprised his friends who had always considered him a pious man. When he died a map was found in his desk that revealed he built his home on a seam of quartz stone. His friends learned the source of his great wealth when in an old desk in the basement they found an article on how gold is formed in seams of quartz.
