One day, three neighborhood children were staring at the house from far away on the sidewalk. The first boy said, ''that place is haunted, I'm never going in there. '' the second boy said, ''it gives me the creeps just standing here.
'' then the girl said, ''cool, let's go inside and check it out. '' the boys, not wanting to be known as cowards, raced up the long dark abandoned driveway to catch up with the little girl who Marched boldly ahead.

rusty hinges of the grand front door creaked loudly as the children stepped inside. The little girl said, ''what's that knocking sound? '' it was the

sound of one of the boys shaking so badly that his knees were knocking together.
The house was empty except for the dust that cloaked everything and the long comb webs hanging everywhere. They walked into the living room and were astonished by the beauty of the huge crystal chandelier still hanging in the empty dining room.
