Ghost soldiers of Wisconsin Avenue a wealthy resident of Chevy chase has offered a $1 000 reward for the first person to identify the army served by the ghost soldiers on Wisconsin Avenue. The wealthy resident has an office at Wisconsin Avenue and old Georgetown road in Bethesda Maryland where for nearly 200 years the old stone tavern served spirited drinks.
Today the old stone tavern is gone but the location has become the destination of spirits seen on Wisconsin Avenue. The wealthy resident works late into the night and walks home to chase chase on Wisconsin Avenue where the strange and mysterious encounters occur.

As he is deep in thought he hears weary footsteps approach and a voice say ''the battle is done we must regroup at the stone tavern. '' for only an instant the wealthy resident is surrounded by men in uniform but if he looks directly they vanish like the mist.

The wealthy resident has learned much by not looking directly when he hears their weary footsteps approach and only observing with an indirect glance. The soldiers wear cloth uniforms common for soldiers in the 18th and 19th centuries.
The wealthy resident is consumed with knowing who these men are who pass him in the night. He offered a $1 000 reward for the identity of the unit and army of his late night companions. There are three armies whose soldiers traveled on Wisconsin Avenue after a battle.
Are they George Washington's Colonial troops returning in 1754 from the battle at Fort Necessity during the French and Indian war; are they American troops withdrawing during the war of 1812 as the british burned the capitol or are they Union troops withdrawing in 1861 from the battle of bull run? The reward is likely to be claimed soon.
