When Ft. Howard was still open as a veterans hospital I became intrigued since it was named after an ancestor of mine, Colonel John Howard. I worked for a commercial ambulance company who was contracted with the fort as we called it and witnessed a lot of paranormal activity. Since I always started around 5:00 am I would get to the Fort before 05:30 hours and take a nap before getting my first patient. I would see Sweetie, and after talking to some of the

long time residents I would always leave her lollipops.
I saw the torso that would appear and nothing else. I would respectfully tell it ''good

day. '' I always encountered the paranormal there and was respectful. However, one day I went there to pick up a patient and was conversing with this said patient when my partner advised me that the patient had died several hours earlier. I then pointed to the patient and said ''well, who this is then?'' The gentleman I was talking to said ''hi'' to my partner and then disappeared. I never saw my partner again after that day.
