Back in 1981 I came across a humanoid creature in the marshes at the mouth of the Gunpowder. It was the coldest day of the month; it was wearing clothing but not winter-clothing. It was the size of a normal man, and I saw it leap up into the tress and run through the trees screaming and hollering like an ape.

Hiking along the lower Gunpowder between the Jones Road entrance and the rapids above the railroad tracks we were snapping photographs for my daughter's school projects when my hair was tugged. There were no other people around and nothing dangling from the bridge abutments.

The photographs had some questionable mist figures in the archways of the bridge abutment. Does anyone have any history related to this? Jan19 2013.
