For two years I lived in a renovated house on Strauss Avenue in Indian Head. Years before when it was being renovated there were reports of the workers hearing heavy footsteps on the floor above them. A worker ran up the stairs expecting a burglar. The entire floor was empty. the pecking until the constant sound awoke me. Seeing me awake the bird flew away. The next morning the same thing happened. After this we moved our rooms downstairs. Our living room was under the upstairs hall way between where our rooms were on the second floor. In the evenings while we sat watching TV we would hear the heavy footsteps. The first few times my husband jumped up, grabbed a bat, and ran upstairs only to find it empty. Eventually we rented
