I live in the Potomac Heights neighborhood and I see that people have been telling stories about the hauntings in this old neighborhood in Indian Head MD. I looked for ghost stories about Indian head on Google and today I came across two stories about the Potomac heights and I agree with the story's I have seen because I believe there are a lot of unmarked graves in the neighborhood from native Americans. Who knows who else was buried there being on the Potomac River, and it was once a slave plantation. I believe this because of how the area geologically looks. I heard stories that people were driving through at night and someone runs out in the street and gets hit, and when the driver gets out no one is there. I've heard stories about weird noises outside at night and dark shadows under street lights and don't ever go in the forest it's mainly a creepy swamp by the river. The Potomac Heights neighborhood is a very haunted neighborhood. Submitted by Brian

I moved to Mattingly Avenue in Indian Head, MD from Baltimore with my family when I was seven, and the town was always kind of creepy, but time went by, and I graduated high school in the year 2006. I got a job at the navy yard in nearby Washington, DC in 2008. I finally moved out of my parents' house. I moved just down the road to the Potomac Heights neighborhood. I knew the neighborhood well because I had some friends who lived there. Well let me just tell you this neighborhood is beyond creepy. It felt so weird there, but I let it go when I first moved into my house because it was a new environment, and I just thought that's why it felt creepy and weird.
I kept telling myself this until one night when I was trying to go to sleep. I felt like someone was watching me. Then all of a sudden I heard my name called. I was really scared, and I fell asleep with my light on that night. Since then I've seen endless shadows, and I've heard endless voices. I know my house here is old, but I don't think it's just my house. I think it's this neighborhood. It's haunted. I've talked to neighbors who have said they think their house is haunted too. This place is so scary, especially on these foggy nights with the street lights on. I've seen shadows it's creepy. If you can't deal with ghost, don't move to the Potomac Heights in Indian Head, MD.
