actually seen something is that I know for a fact I closed my laundry room door, and that door was cracked open the way I saw it in my dream. I know this all sounds like a horror movie, but this is what I have seen. I believe that is the last of it. I haven't seen or heard anything in five months.

It was a house on Tatler Place in Owings Mills, Maryland where my mother had to move, so we could get away from my dad and her ex-boyfriend. He beat her mercilessly. Sometimes he would come from a late night with the guys. My mother hated that because most of the time he was belligerently drunk. He would smack her so hard that I know the whole block had heard it. Then he would make her feel so bad about herself. From what I remember he would hurt her right in front of me and my little sister. I was too young to do anything, and when I did I got hit. I remember going to school having to lie to my teachers about my bruises.

Anyway, we had moved away from him far away. We lived in Oregon, and she thought she had finally ridded us of him. Only 4 months into us living here, he found us. I remember him taking me and sister into the car to the hospital while my mother rode in the ambulance. It was tragic out of my control. So he ended up staying with us because he promised my mom. It was the kick he needed to change his life around, and he's going to make it up to us. So after a year everything was going good. He had only lost his temper once in that year, and it was my fault. I needed a cast for my hand though, not very fun.
One day I came home from school, and it was horrific there as stuff was thrown everywhere. I saw Bruce cleaning up a huge stain. He said he dropped some juice and threw a tantrum because of it. Then he left and that was the last time I saw Bruce and my mom. Well she never made it home from the store that day like Bruce said she would. I am now 37 with a daughter of my own. I still wonder what he did and where he went. I feel like my mother's presence follows me around the house all the time. I just can't shake the feeling.
