My first discharge from the US army was back in 1978. I was living in Perryville, and my first born son was only 6 days old, so it was about 3:00 a.m., and it was time for his feeding. As I went down to get him a bottle, I was met by a black mass I will never forget it. . Submitted by Frank

Living as a boy in the area between Port Deposit and Perryville on Jackson Park Rd I saw the same ghost many times. The area was called battle swamp and was between the local craigtown and Bainbridge areas....

We knew them as those neighborhoods because the local convenience stores were called as such. To describe what he looked like: tall (I was a kid... 5'5'' was tall to me... So I'm not sure how tall but to guess now about 5'10''.

) he wore dark pants and a jacket that was like a thicker wool jacket. He had a beard which was kind of scruffy. His jacket was open and not buttoned. I remember thinking he wore a sword. But as I think now I never really saw the whole sword but maybe a large knife.
He would walk into my bedroom at night. I'd wake up and watch him walk in turn in front of my bed and stare at me. Some nights I was awake and saw him come in. Other nights I'd wake up and he'd be there already. A few nights I would be awakened and just too scared to look but when I finally got the nerve I would notice that the light from the window was coming in from behind me as if I was laid out still yet turned 180 degrees.
