On September 2nd, 1963 I arrived at Port Deposit, Maryland to await transfer to the Radioman A School at the nearby Bainbridge Naval Base. I was assigned to barracks 519. Across from our barracks was an empty, formerly a woman's barracks.
On the night of Monday, November 4th, 1963 I had guard duty. The upstairs guard reported to me that men in the break room had observed a ghostly phenomenon in the window of the barracks across from us. I was skeptical

but followed the guard back to the break room and patiently watched the window across the street. Suddenly I observed the sharply defined shadow of an

arm rise up in the window. It was slender like the arm of a woman, and the arm rotated as if a person lying in the bunk near the window had raised their arm and was admiring the fingers on their hand. The arm then would drop, and you could observe a slight disturbance and a blurred figure would arise from the bunk and go away from the window. Then the cycle would repeat.
I mentioned it to the guard who relieved me and headed downstairs to log out.
