The tavern was destroyed by a fire the following year. The close vicinity known as Chicken Alley has been victim to his ghost for over one hundred years!.

As a small child about 3-4 years old I lived in a rental house with my parents in Bat Cave. My strongest first memories are of that house and being greatly disturbed by a built in flush with the wall book shelf.

Also I had memories of what I thought was a dream (though who remembers dreams from that young) in which my room was dark and all of these people were gathered around my bed and looking down at me.

I thought all of that was just my child's mind trying to figure out the world. But when I was 15 my no-nonsense mother told me several stories about living in the house-about coming home to find all of the cabinets open previously closed doors open, and the final straw her laying in bed with my step dad during the summer and hearing a scream followed by all of the windows slamming shut at one time.
We moved within a few days. My mother is such a serious no bs kind of person. She has no spiritual leanings has never prayed (that I've ever seen) or done anything to indicate she ever believed that unseen being exists yet she told me this story that she truly believed.
She never wanted to discuss it again which scared me more than anything. For her to believe it... It just makes it that much more solidified to me. Anyhow I have no idea of the address and my mother was only 23 or 24 at the time and that was 30 years ago.
