On 2 separate occasions my husband and I were fishing at Belews Creek and heard something. The 1st time we heard many horses' hooves going down the bridge and then off towards the boat ramp and then under the bridge.
There is no way to ride a horse under the bridge. It is water. And with a full moon out we never saw one horse or rider. The second time we were leaving and traveling up the bridge back to Walkertown and as we hit the bridge I heard horses'

hooves pounding right beside our car keeping speed with us and I could hear it breathing heavily through it's nostrils.
I was close to freaking out

and thought I was hearing things until my husband said do you hear horses' hooves? I said shut up! In total freak out because that confirmed what I was hearing what we both were hearing.
We heard the hooves hitting pavement then when we came off the bridge we heard the hooves hitting grass for a few steps ... Then nothing. We haven't been back since but we will one day with cameras, recorders, etc.
