I have been stationed on Camp Lejeune for 16 years so far. Since 2000 it has been my only duty station except for three years on recruiting duty and a few schools and deployments. I have never experienced any unexplained events but have heard of many.
In H1 on the 1st deck they have a small display of old weapons. Marines that I work with and stand duty there at the main entrance or other duties for the individual units within H1 say they sometimes hear the weapons making noise like as if someone is cranking handles or loading or unloading them.
When the investigate they can't find anyone around. I'll post more when I remember or hear of new ones.

Comment by Dot: When I came back past that door it was wide open. I just kept right on going and left it that way. Supposedly that end of the building was the psyche ward, and a female patient got out through that door and ended up drowned in the bay.

I was stationed/lived at MCAS New River throughout the 90s. I would spend most of my off-time fishing around Lejeune, Geiger, MCAS, and Verona Loop/Camp Devil Dog area. One of my favorite areas to fish was on the south side of the river in Verona Loop training area. In particular, there was a spot I fished often where once an early settlement was destroyed by a storm, and the people of that village moved and resettled inland. That is according to a historical monument/placard erected at the site.

I would drive to this site using the AAV trails. I fished by myself usually, but I often felt like I was being watched, or at least was not there alone. Then on one evening I went to this spot to fish for a couple of hours after work. Not long after I unloaded my gear and began fishing, I heard the sound of wood being chopped with an axe, and young children playing and laughing. What I heard was clear (not a maybe. ) I looked but saw no one there.
