However, most of the woods is now gone. The woods ran from between Downing Street to the Westminister Cemetery, so it was about half a mile wide in those days and ran about a mile long. The remnants of the old barns were in the woods and fields between the cemetery and Downing Street. The barn was used as a club house for the boys back then until it burned down for unknown reasons. The graves in the woods were kind of a mystery, and I recall someone

telling me as a kid that really poor families just buried there on that way long ago.

My parents have lived off old battleground for about 30 or so years. Our house was brand new when we moved in it. When I was about 11 or 12 I was the first one in my family to experience a ghost sighting. I was in my room, and I woke up. I saw a man with a hat and a long coat standing looking down at the top of my TV. My TV was off. I was so scared; I tried to call for my parents, but nothing would come out. The entity was turning to look at me, and the only thing I could do was pull the cover over my head. When I awakened my whole sheet was wet. I don't know if it was sweat, urine or what. I didn't think it was urine because it covered my whole bed and had no smell.
I also use to hear mumbled voices at night behind my wall. I would think it was my older sister maybe she had snuck someone in the house, so I would creep to her room to catch her, and she would be sound asleep. No one believed me in my family until they saw things as well. My sister and her boyfriend were at Jaycee Park eating ice cream and talking, and my sister said she thought it was a glare in the window, so she rolled it down. And she saw a man's head with a beard floating in the trees, and it was getting closer and closer. When she told her boyfriend to look he speeded off. Then my mother saw a lady in her bedroom with ruffles around her neck. She thought it was a clown until it got closer.

Comment by Lance: Kristy my grandparents used to live on Kerry dr. It's off of Lawndale but ran to another small street I can't remember the name of now to make a long story short we where very close to Jacey Park. This would have been mid 80s to late 90s.
My grandparents had lived there since the early 70s though. I have heard people that used to live in that neighborhood that used to walk to Jacey Park in the evenings for exercise tell about a man's head floating toward them just as your sister described.
I wonder was it where that big baseball field is. Out in the parking lot just before you go down into the actual park? We used to love those big slides down in the park. Lol do you remember those?.
