but I knew it wasn't him because he had already left for work. I don't know why, but I didn't tell my mom, and I didn't reach for the quarter. I had the feeling if I told my mom she would open the door, and I didn't want to see who or what those feet belong too. Plus I had the feeling if I told my mom something really bad would happen. I don't know how to explain that, but the feeling was complete terror.
Another time was when we went to my Granny's

house. She lived in a trailer that just happened to be about 300 yards from the other house I saw things in. Anyway, my mom and I went to see my Granny.

My mom and my Granny were in the living room of the trailer talking. I being a small child was bored, so I walked all the way down the hall to the other end of the trailer to my Granny's bedroom. I stopped at her door because there was an old woman lying in my Granny's bed under the covers with one of those old timey sleeping hats on. It was like you see in the old pictures of the Pilgrims or something. She smiled at me and waved, but I ran back to
