In Hamlet North Carolina strange things happen every day. Near the fair grounds there, there is an old mortuary that has been around since circa 1930 and is still standing. Many believe that the old building is haunted.
It sits far back from the road and every time you pass by you feel like you're being watched. One time my girlfriend and I were riding by with our friend and we heard piano music coming from inside.

It's said that a woman hanged herself in the top room and that the nurse and her clothes are still there to this day.

Comment by Joe: I know the house you are talking about, it was torn down recently (sometime round 2010), but my fiancé and I did a EVP session on the site and you can plainly hear ''I miss it'' and ''go''.

Comment by Rob: The house you are referring to is the Boyd house. I have never heard that it was a mortuary. Although it certainly looked like a haunted house (as in dilapidated old mansion type house) I never heard any ghost tales surrounding anything in that house.
I grew up in Hamlet. The house has been torn down.
