The Kinston Queen Street Bridge area is haunted! My wife and I were visiting our daughter as she attended college in Kinston. We stayed at the hotel that sits right next to the Queen Street Neuse River Bridge. Around 8 p.m. we decided to walk across the road and grab a bite to eat at Hardee's and bring it back to the room. In January this time of year it is dark outside. On the way back we could hear what sounded like men screaming ''stop the fire''

and the sound of water splashing around right near the river and bridge.
It was kind of hard to see anything, but we could not see any water or
|
movement. We shrugged it off and walked about another 25 feet and heard more screaming. It was as if multiple people were yelling and swimming in the river. It sounded similar to an old western cavalry movie where they yell ''charge!'' Again no one was around. However, this time we caught whiffs of cigar smoke. It was as if it was blown in your face. We ran to our room this time and never heard or smelled anything since.
