Around 1969 my mother was driving me, my brother, and about three of my friends down Monroe Road toward Matthews. Right after we passed the overhead railroad bridge I saw a Native American on a horse move a small branch with leaves on it as he came out of the woods. He had a wood spear with what looked to be a long arrowhead on the end of it with I believe one red feather just under the arrowhead hanging off the spear. He had 3 lines of red paint on each cheek.

He had a wooden ribbed breastplate on. He had long black hair with a single red feather standing up straight up on his head. He was on a brown horse.
When
|
we went by it I yelled if anyone saw it. They all said no. My mother turned the car around, and we went back, but he had disappeared. I was about 13 years old then, and I'm 59 now. Back then there was nothing around there except woods. I will never forget it . I always wonder if anyone else has seen it. Submitted by Elwood
Comment by Phillipe: Oh my god. I thought I was seeing things. I was on McAlpine Trail early one morning for a jog, and I saw the same native man on a horse. This was 5 years ago. I told my fiancé about that vision. I feel a lot better knowing that I wasn't the only one who saw him. I just stand there for a moment watching him. That's so amazing!.
