We have a ghost cat that keeps our dog very busy at night, not to mention keeps our guest wondering why they can feel a cat walking on their bed at night and shocked to know we don't have a cat. All this in a mill house in Mooresville. Submitted by Tim

I can personally say that after living in two of Mooresville's Historic Mill Hill homes they are absolutely ''occupied''. Everything from hearing cabinet doors closing in the night, objects getting thrown around, chairs scooting from under the table, to water turning on by itself, mocking voices, and ghost cats.

We don't mind them... We just set boundaries and sometimes have to remind them that we pay the rent and they better behave. Submitted by Huntress

Many of the residents of the ''old Mill Village'' would say that their houses are occupied only by themselves. But that is not the case. Several of the old Mill Village houses are said to be haunted by former residents. Many of which stand along the main road college Street. Some typical hauntings include but are not limited to: doors being opened and closed on their own. Lights being turned on and off. Animals reacting to someone or something that is not visible.
