I grew up in the south end of Newton, just a couple of roads up from the elementary school. The one-bedroom apartment my mother rented was an old two-story house that had been divided into three separate apartments: one upstairs and two downstairs with three separate doors exiting on the front porch. The first strange things I can remember as a kid was having an extremely uneasy feeling while being alone in the bathroom. It was almost like being watched

even with the door closed. My mother for years would hear what sounded like marbles rolling while she was in the closet. She just assumed it was the older

neighbor messing around with something on her side. However, when the woman died some years later the noise continued and eventually got to where I would hear it as well.
My mother woke up one night from a dead sleep and saw a head (no body or legs) floating across the bedroom into the kitchen area. My brother, who is twelve years older than me, waited to tell me this until I was a little older. Mom was at work one night, and he and myself were sleeping
