I used to live in Rutherfordton and had been an EMT at the former Volunteer Life Saving and Rescue. Many a times while I was on duty I would hear footsteps and what sounded like pool balls moving around or rolling around on the floor. I've seen lights turn off and on as well as doors opening and closing by themselves.
There was one night when I was there by myself since we were training a new rookie EMT. I had stayed back while my partner took the

rookie on a basic call. While I was in there alone mind you I heard someone move a chair. I saw a door open and close by itself and heard footsteps head
|
over to the basement door. Soon I saw that door open and close. About twenty minutes later I heard footsteps on the basement steps heading upstairs. The door opened and closed.
I had been told about our ghost we called ''Charlie. '' I just smiled and politely greeted him by saying, ''hey, Charlie. Busy night, huh?'' The footsteps stopped and heard a male voice lightly chuckle before walking into another room. Volunteer Life Saving and Rescue has
