My son and I were traveling through Columbus, NC shortly after 11:00 pm. We were heading towards the town of Tryon. We were on a usually joyful and pleasant winding road called Lynn Road or Hwy 108. Then just before McFarlands funeral home in a very sharp curve stood a man wearing all white. His eye sockets were black, but you could see white eyeballs rolled back. His body was emaciated; his frame stood bent awkwardly backward with his left leg poised forward

in the road as if daring us to hit him. His right arm was twisted with his right palm turning back into his side as if deformed. His hair was shoulder
|
length but very thin straggly brown and silver or gray with a very high forehead.
In spite of having my bright lights on him and the car swerving around his leg, he did not even flinch. In fact he did not move at all. I was dying to turn around, but my son was absolutely not wanting to. My son said straight up ''mom, that was a ghost,'' and I believe him.
