I grew up in Vanceboro, right on Chandler Road. I am the grandchild of Holt and Louis Chandler. I lived on Chandler Road until 2000. The house still stands and was built by my family in the 1800s. As a child, living there and seeing all the things I did kinda makes it hard for me to even drive by it anymore, even at my age, 27. This home is haunted by Willie, my great grandmother Queenie Bell and a few others that died in this home. As a toddler, I would try

to tell my mom about the bad man in the bathroom, but it wasn't until my parents encountered him themselves that I was taken seriously. Willie, wearing

a checkered dress coat, is very unpleasant and when he is present in the room with you, a very dark feeling comes over you. That's the first sign of him in the room. Next, he WILL grab you on your arms. I was always reassured by my father Jermie that I wasn't being grabbed. That was until he was in his recliner watching TV by the white column in the living room one afternoon.
