This sighting happened on the old Whitmire highway. We were headed back toward Newberry. There in the distance we saw a very bright light that appeared to be a possible wreck. We slowed the car down to a crawl in order to pass but to our surprise when we got within approx. 10 feet of the light, we saw two figures that were illuminated and see thru. We could see the man had on a flannel shirt and bib overalls holding what looked like an old train lantern and a brown dog sitting on the ground beside him.

As we passed by, it seemed as if the two figures watched us pass, but instead of turning their heads, the scene seemed to turn as we passed by. After we were completely passed it was gone. Needless to say we were gone as well.

Comment by Renea: This is so true I saw this also.
Comment by Kevin: You have seen my grandfather. He lived on hwy 34 and can still be seen at the old home place rather frequently. He lives in the old house where my cousin lives now. He was an avid coon hunter and always carried a lantern from his railroad days and had many coon hounds. Never wore anything but bib overalls.
Comment by Victoria: What are the ghost name and what do they want from you???.

The wife and I lived in the guest house, located behind the old Carperter house on Friend St. One evening I stepped out of the kitchen area and watched a woman walk down the hallway and enter into the bedroom located to the right.
