Cedar creek - Creek Landing Rd, as a young boy growing up and living on this road I took my dads rifle out of the closet when no one was at home. I sat down on the couch in the living room fascinated with putting the ammo in it.

Suddenly loud stomping sounds occurred as if someone was cleaning their boots on the front porch. I looked out window and did not see anyone, but sound grew louder, the door going out to the porch was closed and door knob began to shake - door flew open - no one was there, just wind blowing violently into the house and I ran out the back door.

When I got the nerve, I went back into the house and unloaded rifle and secured it back in the closet. I thought about this many times and knew my granddad was killed on the same porch Dec 25 back in the forties.
It may have been his way of warning me to respect fire arms and any weapon that may cause death. This area too like all others has it's secrets and mysteries.
