It still was so I did a quick turn around and back and to my surprise the shadow was gone. It scared me for the rest of the week!.

A few years ago, I was sleeping in my aunt's living room. Now granted her house is only six years old, and in a newish neighborhood in Summerville, but it also shares wooded land with what used to be the Woodlands Resort. Anyway so it was 2:30 in the morning, and it had stormed, but by this time the sky was clear. I don't usually just wake up at night. I was woken up by the voices of men and beer glasses clinking together and walking around. I lay for a minute or two listening to these males, and I finally called out for someone. But I have heard stories that when you call out the ghost just leave. However, these ghosts didn't. They continued talking until my aunt came into the room.

To this day it haunts me knowing that she probably had ghosts in her home. I also have to note that I never liked to walk the halls at night, and her frog room, guest room and office always gave me the creeps. The room I stayed in while visiting her, I would hear human like activity coming from the office, with the doors to the closet being messed with and banging on the walls. My uncle always picked on me saying I was crazy, but I know I'm not insane. To this day, maybe people reading this future wise can help me know for sure. I'm not the only one experiencing this. I don't visit my aunt and uncle anymore, and they don't live in this house anymore either, but I know to this day that their house was lived in long before they bought it when it was first built and on the market.

Comment by Hello: You mention Woodlands resort in your experience. I did an extensive report on that particular landmark and would love to send it to you but in the meantime it was a resort for very influential Charleston socialites in the early 1900s and had many owners and uses over it's extensive existence.
As of 2017 Mr. Limehouse now owns it.
Comment by Hadley: Hello, sorry for such a long time gap to reply. Please I would love to read the report on the Woodlands. I knew the extensive history of the Woodlands (as most Summerville natives do) and would love to see more of the history.
