My dad used to live at Lake Wateree. One night my grandmother and I decided that we wanted sundaes, so we drove to Winnsboro to the drive-in place (Sonic) via the road off exit 48, I think. We were driving back to my dad's and took a wrong turn at a fork in the road. There was an old gas station there. When we got back on the right road, I saw some type of apparition in front of the forest (on the right side of the road. )The best way to describe it would

be that it looked like a statue of the Virgin Mary, but where the face would be it was only black.
I asked my grandmother ''did you just see something

on the side of the road?'' She replied ''yes, did you see it, too?'' I asked her what it looked like to her and she said ''I don't know, but it didn't have a face!'' The next morning we drove back down that road and turned around at the fork in the road. I wanted to see if it was maybe a blanket or something draped over a tree limb, and my mind was just playing tricks on me, but nothing was there. It still gives me goose bumps when I think of it!.
