I'm not the one who had actually experienced this, but my mother and her family did. When she was really young she and her family moved around quite a bit, and one house they lived in used to be on Lafayette Avenue. It was a brick house that was two-story high and had an attic. The house connected in some weird way, one closet lead to two bedrooms. The one bedroom she had shared with her sister had what looked like a lab of some sort. As she described,

it could have been a black table top with cabinets surrounding the room. Through the one closet I discussed led up to the attic. Well, when they moved

They heard noises as every house makes when it settles, but then she started hearing foot steps, sounding like heavy boots walking through the house. She would freeze up and ask her sister if she heard anything. Sometimes her sister would hear the noises, and they both would tell their parents. My grandfather on a couple of occasions would go through the house and check to make sure no one was there. Then they started
