When I was five years old my parents purchased our current home. From the beginning I knew very little, only that the home had been built in the 1800s. As a child I was scared about leaving my first home mainly because change had frightened me. Humorously, however, I should have been more worried about the events that would take place once we were settled into our new life.
A year after we had moved in I was sleeping in my bed when the apparition

of my blankets rose in the air. For minutes they circled my bed, almost dancing. Being the slight risk taker that I am, I darted through them to grab
|
my water. I felt nothing (no drop in temperature), but standing next to the dresser on the other side of them, I could see that they continued to move. I returned to my bed with water in hand, deciding eventually to hide beneath the covers. This was the first event, but there would be more.
When I was still relatively young, dreams would chase me, constantly. Often these dreams were completely bizarre, other times they were frightening. Some of
