We lived in a home in the Perrymont area of Lynchburg for over twelve years. My husband who had never been ill died very suddenly of a heart attack. After this occurrence neighbors approached me and told me that this house ''did not like men''.
I went to several sources and discovered that nine men had died in the home including one who hung himself in the basement. At the time my youngest son was nine years old. As he approached adolescence we began to experience activity.
Doors which were open when we left home were closed and locked with a hook-and-eye lock from the inside upon our return. Our relatives experienced the apparition of a man in the basement and my oldest daughter was frightened by a loud knocking on the door of one of the downstairs bedrooms in the middle of the night.
The knocking was described as heavy and insistent but when she opened the door there was no one there. My oldest son was visiting and while waiting for me to return home from a trip to the grocery store he called-very upset-and told me he had left the house and would not return because he heard loud ''growling''. I had never heard him so afraid. As my youngest son grew older the activity increased to the point of light bulbs popping and burning out as soon as they were replaced, unexplained noises and the strong feeling of being watched.
