I have lived in Lynchburg the majority of my life (I am in my 40's) and I have had numerous ghost sightings as well as ghost activities over the years... Far too many to list here for sure! But I will give two examples which both occurred about 20 years back at River ridge mall of all places! The first happened in Morrison's Cafeteria...

As I was sitting down at lunch one day I saw a Victorian woman about 30 years old walking past my table. She had a long white chiffon type dress on with a high neck and sleeves that were tight from wrist to elbow and had buttons all up that part and then the tops of the sleeves were poofy.

She had long hair pulled up in a very loose bun with a ring of white and yellow flowers around her head. Then she evaporated as quickly as she appeared! The other occurrences happened in the women's clothing store that I worked at for over ten years.
In that period of time we had loose change be thrown from empty employee lockers, items of clothing swing wildly from their racks when no one was even close, and the tool box would continually slam shut on it's own when the top was wide open making this logistically impossible! Anyway I am convinced that either the mall is haunted or maybe it's me that's haunted! And by the way the house that my husband and I bought in the last 3 years came with it's own collection of resident ghosts...
And we wouldn't have it any other way! We love them... They're like family!.
