Even the lot seems awkward for building a house. To get the nice view, you have to put the house part way down the hill, obscured from the rest of the world. This is what the original owner tried to do. Yet the whole thing seems to have failed, and worse yet seems destined to fail again. Even if they do extend the paved road to the house, and even if they get rid of the smell and somehow fix the pool, I just can't see anyone living there.

inclined to think it's cursed. I don't know why. Perhaps some Iroquois chief considered this holy ground and put a curse on anyone who would build on it. Or perhaps some horrific crime was committed that has never been atoned for, or some terrible injustice that has never be made right. Unless someone volunteers more information, I am at a loss how to prove or disprove my suspicions. However, for whatever it may be worth, I'll state my unsubstantiatable
