a limb on a tree move up and down erratic. I had gotten up to look. I saw no wind, no bird, or squirrel. About that time my father-in-law had gotten up. Now it's five o'clock; he had come downstairs to read his bible in the other room. Then I guess I fell asleep till eight o'clock. had strange things break on them at night especially in the basement. They never saw anything at all, but they were glad to move out of there.

Comment by Joseph: My name is Joe. I wrote and told you all what had happened to me the night I had slept in the basement of my sister and brother-in-law's home that they had sold. My wife and I had driven up from Houston to help them move some boxes and furniture to storage. I would have never ever have realized that these strange and ghostly events had happened to me, especially in such a fairly new home and a beautifully fixed up basement, so modern looking. I had done my homework on the area about Manassas and its history and was just blown away. I had never realized how many people that have died in the hole surrounding area. Let me recap the events that happened.
My toe next to my big toe was bitten more than once, and on the way home the day after that had noticed there was a newly formed scab on that toe. I knew that at that time it was not just cramps or a charley horse. My water bottle made popping sounds -- three, to many times, also noises like movement and banging, but when several times a pool ball clacked that was still in the side pockets, but when I went up stairs and then watching a single limb moving up and down with no wind for a while then I fell asleep. The land is haunted with so many killings in the whole area, just think they were there before the homes were there. I also remember watching deer at night with the lights out they would come up to the back yard, and they acted like there was something there so skittish.
Several months later my sister-in-law, Linda told me that one night she was sitting on the bed getting ready to go to sleep, and she was doing something to get ready for the next day. She thought that she had been talking to her husband, but he was in the bathroom still. She looked over and saw an image of a large person wearing old type of clothing, and then he was gone. She said she screamed and told her husband that she thought she had just seen something that looked like someone. Her husband Tom said ''you're just seeing things. '' (out of sight. Out of mind. ) They just left it like that. Linda told me about the strange things and noises they would hear. They thought the house was settling, but pictures would fall off the walls, and bottles of wine would accidentally break. And they never slept down in the basement. I would like to talk to the daughter, my niece who moved out long ago. I wonder?.
