Some of the ghost hunting groups should come to Prospect! The history goes back to the late 1700's in this county! In Prospect you can always see some kind of sprit or ghost! There is something that hunts the grave yard next to the methiodist church at Prospect! You can see mists or strange light around the graveyard! Also the church is haunted you also see strange mist or fog inside of the church as well as walking on the old wood floors! This only happans when they are only a few people hanging out at the church and only at dark! The history goes back before the Civil War! I guess the yankeys did not burn down this church as a matter of fact most or all of the churches in this country was spared and not burned in the Civil War! I just don't understand why they are not more ghost sightings posted in this area because this area was in the last year of the Civil War area era! With all the old houses and churches and old train track that used to be and now is a state park! They are so many hauntings here!.

Prospect has many ghost from both sides of the Civil War but not just Prospect but the old train tracks that is not longer a train track but is now is a few miles hiking trail nowadays a State Park that's called High Bridge trail that starts in Pamplin and goes through Farmville and ends up at High Bridge! Anyhow High Bridge was almost burned down confederate troops to keep the Yankees from crossing! Well not burning High Bridge down all the way failed to keep the Yankees from crossing and this was in the last days of the Civil War! They are many ghost along the trail from both sides! Just take a walk along the trail at night! You can see all kinds of things that can't be explained and even if you don't see anything you'll sure feel something! Gen Robert e Lee surrendered about ten miles from Pamplin in Appomattox in April 1865 and that's a very haunted place also! Even so you can't stay overnight at the Appomattox park you sure can walk along the road and see the Civil War ghost! On the road besidethe park don't walk alone along the roads at night or High Bridge trail if you have a bad heart! If anyplace is haunted both these places are! Don't take my work for it come see for yourself!.
