I lived in the woods area of Ruther Glen and I have many stories of hauntings when I used to live there. I used to hear tappings on the windows at night, books falling off my shelf for no reason at all. I remember hearing a loud bang in my bathroom. I was to scared to look. I waited till next morning come to find my laundry basket upside down with my clothes on the floor.
I freaked out and called my boyfriend at the time. When I was about to close the

door to leave the door slammed right in my face. I had a very bad feeling in that house. When I came back I asked ''if there was anyone here with me to

walk towards my bed'' and at that moment I heard what sounded like boots walking towards my bed.
At that moment I took my keys and left.

I lived in Ruther Glen for about 2 years on and off. I first stayed with my boyfriend at the time in his parents' house almost a mansion and brand new; they were the first people to have lived there. I was staying in the guest bedroom across the hall from my boyfriend and awoke at sometime in the early morning hours (I'd estimate 2 or 3 am) to find myself paralyzed and barely able to breathe. I could only move my eyes and when I did I saw a black shadowy figure in the corner of the room. I could describe it only as an opaque shadow yet constantly shifting. It started to come towards me but I made myself overcome it's influence. I ran from the room and stayed with my boyfriend from then on. The second experience I have had in Ruther Glen sounds a lot like another I have seen posted as occurring in this area. I was living in a trailer with some friends in Ladysmith and it was right next to some woods.
