There was the hauntings of the old stone house. People saw Civil War soldiers, and there was the story of the Scott family that built the house. They owned slaves, and one person told of somebody knocking on the door. When they opened the door a woman came in and said ''I've come for the baby'' and walked to the stairs. The story there was that a young black girl had a baby, and they sold it from her. She begged them to let her keep her baby. Submitted by Sue

When I was in town vistiting a friend of mine she told me about a how you can hear the African American regiamen drums beating in the night. For me I didn't believe her 'til one night I went on a summer walk with her and I heard a drumming sound.

At first I thought it was my friend making the noise with her phone but she stopped and told me to listen and watch. I stopped and as soon as I did I saw figures walking and drumming as I kept staring the got closer and the noise got louder as it did I realized they dressed in war clothing and were slowly disappearing as they walked by. ) from that day on I believed that the after life is true.
