I was walking with a few of my friends along 47, and I kept seeing what looked like a ball of light. At first I didn't pay much attention to it, but then it took shape, and I noticed it was a wounded soldier walking along the highway.

I wish that I could tell you my life story from when I was a child growing up in South Hill VA. Never thought that they could have been slaves. That explains why most ghost that I've seen/experienced have been negative.

Yes, there are ghosts in South Hill VA, and they are former slaves. The town is ghost town at night. I was walking with my aunt Eva when I was a child, and we saw two women and a man. They had on ragged clothes, and the women had rags tied around their head. The man had a tall stick walking with it. We were going to Daniel's Market near the train tracks. These people stop and looked at us. I grabbed my aunt's hand, and when we looked back in about 2 seconds they were gone.
My aunt said they were slaves and they came out at night. She said they were all over Mecklenburg County. She said that the white slave holders were mean to the slaves and treated them like animals and worked them like dogs.
She also told me that my great great grandfather was a slave and was bought over here from Barbados, a west indies. I believe her. I believe slave ghosts roam at night. And from what I read there were over 12,000 slaves in this town, and some were Indians that were related to us. Yes, the slaves do come out on the street night. I believe that is why this town is so quiet at night. They want to hurt you I believe. I think they have some unfinished business to tend to or trying to run away.
