door. When asked ''who's there?'' We would get no answer, and again knocking. We would ask again ''who's there?'' Of course no one answered. No one else heard anything, and all others denied having been the knocker. During the 1980s the children were not afraid to tell their friends that the house was haunted. The friends of course laughed. I suppose they expected an abandoned old house with cob webs and a history. When those friends would spend the

night, more often than not, by morning they believed there was something there. I suppose between the footsteps, lights, and television activity they

quickly believed. The house itself had neither deep secrets nor a history. No one ever died in the house that we were aware of. No grisly murders. Not even a graveyard nearby. The house is simply a nice home built in the 1960s and still standing today. The only history that I know of, in that area, is the Civil War activities that took place all along what is now Route 11. We did, as children and during an excavation project on the property, find a
