I grew up in the Bayou all my family for generations have also. My uncle had passed away suddenly from fire . As we often we left the window open on nice nights there were no wind at all. I woke up looked outside to see my grandmas swing swinging back an fourth as if someone was sitting in it.
Later I found out my grandmother seen the same thing an neither of us knew the other did until we got to talking and told each other the same story.

When I was growing up I lived down Bayou Dr. It's in Bayou La Batre and the outskirts of Coden. All kinds of things went on there. Remember we had an old piano in the back room and sometimes at night it would play by itself and when we would open the door it would stop.
Doors would open and slam. You could see shadows of footsteps walking past your bedroom door at night. One time the radio was on country and changed to opera and turned all the way up and wouldn't go down or off.
We had to get a preacher to bless it several times and after Katrina we moved.
