Well, as most of the sighting reports found on the internet are far-fetched and hardly believable, I know of one that cannot be completely explained 100%- and was a shock in national news and very mysterious for numerous years.
Off of the old CCC Trail- which lies in the general area of what is now Laffette Road, and Kali Oka- rising from the swamps- multiple sightings were reported of an ominous glowing orb that would follow a direct path along the road-

come to spectators cars, and once police officials, and local law enforcement attempted to capture and shoot the glowing light- it wouldn't falter, and

could not be caught- universities nation wide attempted to explain this un-natural occurrence- no final conclusive explanation was ever found- search for ''the light at Kali Oka''.

Comment by Katie: I read this and my heart sunk with confirmation. Nearly 10 years ago a group of us (in high school) went to the ''plantation'' house over there. We were playing around in the front yard by a garage or something and trying to scare each other when a guy we're with kicked the bottom glass pane of the front door at the house! We all looked as a light on the top floor turned on and a glowing orb came out from the garage building.
It came straight at me and my 2 girlfriends in the yard getting bigger as it got closer. The farther away we moved the closer it came so we went running towards the car instead. It backed up because we had to run to it.
Never the less I always wondered if we were crazy or not. About 4 years ago I was telling my friends grandmother about this story and she said she had seen it too and told a story about a 7ft tall man as well.
I never saw a figure just the glowing sphere. I will never forget that night and now that I've read this I know that our eyes weren't playing tricks!.
Comment by Bob: Kali Oka, I can remember that place all the way back to 1962. We kids would go out there parking with our girl friends or drink beer that we stole or illegally bought from the fruit stand on Cody Road or the gas station on Moffett Road. There was a legend of a 10-foot tall black man who carried a railroad lantern along the tracks. He was known to be able to pick up your car as you were making out with your girlfriend. I never saw him, and the girls I dated were too frightened to go out there.
