Down from Tutwiller prison on the opposite side of the 231 before it was a junkyard, there is a evil spirit . At least it was when I was a boy. I saw many things there. Has anyone heard tales of an old sword found in an attic there?.

I have seen plenty of unexplained things in the city of Wetumpka. I know the DHR building is haunted. I have seen and heard things. The old trading post by the park is also haunted. Several lights were on and off. City cemetery is haunted. Orbs and shadow people on film.

Comment by Judy: My mom an dad an 2 brothers are buried there in the very back of the cemetery. Every time I go over there I feel something is watching me. I don't go over there by myself anymore.

The Wetumpka Area Chamber of Commerce building in downtown Wetumpka, AL has a lot of paranormal activity going on. Originally it was the First Bank of Wetumpka built about 1910. Since I began working there in 2011, I have heard disembodied voices, heavy footsteps on the stairs. The huge lobby Chandelier has swung side to side when there was no breeze - each globe turning individually. The scariest episodes always happen on the third floor of the building which hasn't been used in decades. When no one else was in the building, my boss and I heard a heavy, scraping noise coming from the third floor. We discovered that a 6' metal table had been dragged across the floor and landed on its side.
During a Chamber meeting, noises were heard upstairs. Upon investigation, all of the heavy, upper floor doors had slammed shut (they are normally always open. ) We have seen dark shadows on the stair landing in the shape of a tall man. Pest Control folks won't go into our basement without someone accompanying them due to the fact that they heard whispers and were touched on their ears. The Chamber is currently renovating 5 buildings on the entire block where the Chamber building sits, one block in front of the Old Courthouse. The building immediately behind the Chamber on the corner of Commerce Street and Court Street (The exterior walls touch the Chamber and the building sits directly in front of the Courthouse) is one of the oldest buildings in Wetumpka and served as a mortuary in the late 1800s. There are constant noises coming from that building.
