Way back in 1981 late in October of course near Halloween I was driving down US 41 very near Ringling Museum; and experienced a phenomenon which has changed my life forever. For those that can remember that US 41 was separated by medians dividing north from south. A young woman crossed in front of me while driving home.
It was around 10:30 pm, my son was sound asleep in his carrier, my daughter sat next to him in the back seat... She was almost seven... When it began. It was late... There was no traffic... The woman I saw crossed all four lanes including the median within less than a second...

I saw her clearly, she was wearing a mid length gown, her hair was blonde, cropped just around the shoulders, curled under at the ends, and I knew she was running... But could not see her feet.... She disappeared as soon as she got to the other side of the road...

My first reaction was what the hell was that? ... I drove to the next turn around... Turned around to go south when my daughter said I saw her mom . She described her perfectly running along the sidewalk on the other side of the street also disappearing into the bushes.
I never told my daughter what I saw... Couldn't believe my eyes in the first place and have never felt a cold like that before or since. At that time I lived just outside of USF Sarasota campus grounds in a condo. Went home put my son to bed turned on all the lights except for the kids bedrooms and called a friend.
He told me that she had been seen before and was quite a legend for haunting that area. Then the real story begins. She followed me home... Immediately after getting home the lights started flickering in my back bedroom which was also adjacent to my daughters bedroom.
